Here's another by my new friend Jenn Hossie. She rocks!
Dear White Water, October 29, 2006
I know that there’s times when the waters of life swirl all around you, and you feel as if you can barely keep your head above water as the undertows try and suck you under. You feel tempted to find quieter waters, as deep inside you feel in over your head. Perhaps you can see your way out, and as the rapids spit in your face, you hesitate knowing deep inside that you haven’t come this far to quit now. I know that when you started this journey, you never expected the waters to get this rough, but I want you to know that each and every stroke you take is perfecting your skills for tomorrow. Even though today’s struggle might be difficult, your Father is with you, and He will not let you get sucked under.
Perhaps you strive to find a soft place to fall, but please trust me when I say that great rewards come to those who persevere. Let Christ be your quite waters. Never let Him go, for He is your lifeline, and in the times when you are too tired to hold on, he carries you. Never loose your passion, but remember that even though passion might be what started your journey, perseverance will keep you going.
I know that it is hard to stay focused at times, but please trust me when I tell you to look onward and keep moving. You don’t want to get sucked back by the current. May you be a life raft for those who are drowning in the currents around them. As you throw them the lifeline of Christ, may you show them that they have a hope and a future. May you set an example of purity, grace, and strength, as others see the difference in you. May you remind the dreamers that it is not to late, for God has not forgotten His words. May Christ always be your lifeline.
Faithfully Me… Jenn Hossie
